After a growth in consumer confidence, this seems to have come to an end. Consumer confidence in the Netherlands has been low for some time, partly due to the sharp rise in inflation. In September and October 2022, the lowest level ever was reached. Willingness to buy has also decreased. The average is well below the average of the past twenty years.

The opinion about the financial health and stability of both the past twelve months and that of the next twelve months is more negative. Moreover, Dutch people are less inclined to make large purchases, because the opinion about the order position is less positive.
